Hello! My name is Katie, and I am a Family Child Care provider on the east side of Brookfield. I am currently enrolling for full-time only. I'm open M-F, 6:30a - 5:30p. I have 3 boys, ages 18 yrs.,5 yrs., and 4 yrs. We have two dogs, a 6 year old Shih Tzu and a 5 month old Shorkie. I am very passionate about the importance of play. It not only provides young children the opportunity to learn about themselves, the world around them, and their playmates, but also increases their attention span. Play also teaches young children to work through their emotions with their playmates and peers while cultivating their individuality and creativity, which is all essential to their future learning. We have a large backyard with plenty of age-appropriate toys and I encourage children to move, play, and get plenty of exercise. Children need and benefit from at least 60 minutes of physical activity every day. Weather permitting, we go outside for 30 minutes or more at least twice daily. On rainy or cold days, your child will still have plenty of exercise indoors through stretching and movement games. I offer the following curriculum: "Family Child Care Curriculum: Teaching through Quality Care, second edition", which is designed to be used for multiple age groups as well as being aligned with the Wisconsin Model Early Learning Standards. The curriculum includes a Developmental Assessment booklet for ages Birth to Age 5 which supports and meets physical and motor development, cognitive development, communication and language development, and social and emotional development. I also use the "Ages and Stages Questionnaires, Third Edition" (ASQ-3), which provides a quick check of your child's development to make sure they are developing well. It includes questions about your child's communication, gross motor, fine motor, problem solving, and personal-social skills and is designed to be filled out by you. It identifies your child's strengths as well as any areas where your child may need additional support. It is designed to illustrate what your child can do - not what your child cannot do. I provide open communication with families in an atmosphere of mutual trust and respect. The small size of my program means your child will receive more individual attention, which will help your child flourish while they learn and grow into the individual they are meant to be! I look forward to meeting you and your family!

I provide quality and loving child care in my home. I am an Integrative Health Coach and feeding children organic fruits and veggies, grass fed beef and dairy, antibiotic free chicken, homemade food and meals is one of my focus. Many childhood diseases as well as obesity has been on the rise in the last few years and is proven to be linked to junk food our children are fed. I believe it is fundamental to feed our children quality and healthy food while they are growing and developing, also teach them how important that is for their well-being. Besides our daily learning activities, I include daily exercise and introduce children to yoga. Music and singing is also part of our activities. I speak and teach French to children in my care. Outdoor daily activities such as playing, vegetables planting, gardening, weather permitted. I use natural and/or homemade cleaning products to eliminate toxicity and diffuse Essential oils to keep our indoor air clean and purified. Organic healthy and balanced breakfast, lunch and snacks provided. Big backyard with lots of toys and a huge sand play area! We have 3 children, 14, 13, and 4 years old. We also have a young friendly Beagle mix, a cat and a fish! Feel free to contact me for additional information or to meet and discuss if you are interested.

ABOUT THE DAY CARE This is a play based learning center! We have a structured day, but focused around learning and exploring. This home is on a 2 acre yard, which means TONS of outdoor exploring, creating, and projects. Healthy Environment - This is a healthy and clean environment. It is cleaned daily with plant based cleaners. All of the cleaning items in the home are toxic-free. No artificial fragrances, harsh chemicals or hormone disrupting items in this home! This is a new and growing business in my home. Since this business is just starting out, I am offering a 15% discount to the first three children enrolled for the first 6 months! Give your child a second home to learn and play in. ABOUT ME I am a mom to one amazing 7-year-old. I have been working in childcare since I was old enough to babysit. During college, I worked at the highest sought out child development center in the region, and I was a nanny for twins for two years after that. I eventually got into blue collar work and quickly moved up the working ladder. A couple years later, when I had to leave my 6-week-old daughter to go back to work, it was one of the hardest things I have ever done. I went back to the workforce, and ever since then, I have felt like I am missing something. Even after climbing up on the business world ladder, something wasn't right. The pitter patter of tiny feet, a face full of wonder and excitement when they try something new, the endless questions that are so important to these growing human beings. I missed it all. So I made a change! This is a very important part of who I am. I love children and don't feel whole without working with kids. I love partnering with parents to develop children into wonderful humans! Hello Parents! I am a registered respiratory therapist that has worked the last 3 years at Children's Hospital of WI. I would like to continue to serve children and families by offering: -small group size with the same consistent kids -researched-based Mother Goose Time curriculum -daily parent communications using an app -loving family atmosphere! My hours of operation are Monday- Friday from 7:30AM to 5:30PM. Website: www.KatiesRainbowKids.wordpress.com Please see below for more information! I'm Katie, a Mom of two wonderful kids ages 2 and 6. For over 3 years, I've been working as a Respiratory Therapist at Children's Hospital of Wisconsin. It is through my experiences at Children's that I am inspired to open a childcare providing a safe, healthy environment for kids. During this time, I've been bringing my children to different day cares trying to find a place that takes care of them as I would. I saw the negative effect of the constant flux of the commercial daycare situation including changing rooms, teachers, and siblings not being together in the same classroom. I decided I'd like to open a daycare that fosters a family-like atmosphere. I have a care center that provides what I've been searching for; daily parent communications about activities each day, pictures to allow you to see your child throughout the day, a full curriculum, and the same caretaker with no switching classrooms. I have completed the following courses : Fundamentals of Infant and Toddler Care, Fundamentals of Family Child Care, and Introduction to the Child Care Profession. My Philosophy: Children grow to their full potential when surrounded by a loving, nurturing environment where they are comfortable being themselves. This is the foundation of the care and activities provided at Katie's Rainbow Kids. My goal is to welcome your child to a family-like atmosphere providing warm and understanding care with the same consistent caregiver and small group of children. I will have weekly lesson plans utilizing Mother Goose Time curriculum embracing the idea that children learn best through play and fun, structured learning activities. This curriculum follows the National Association for the Education of Young Children's guidelines for appropriate curriculum content and the Wisconsin Model Early Learning Standards.

SAH Mother/daughter in home childcare looking for a few more playmates I am just starting out, when I decided to leave my job in Oct. I thought doing care at home would be a great idea, then I thought about doing it with my mom since she has been out of work for a year and has been trying to get ssi (she has childhood diabetes and working in a factory for the last 20 years has been very hard on her) I would still be able to do what I just got my very expensive education in and have someone that loves to be around kids a little added income. I the daughter just left my lead teacher daycare job in October to stay home and supplement my 1st graders education. I'm looking to make some extra money and still help my child, plus prepare my 3 year old for k4. I have a BS in Educational Studies with a minor in Early Childhood from Carroll University and I have CPR training. My mom has had 3 kids, numerous foster kids and has had numerous one to one in home care positions. Not to mention all the different things she has done with her own children like being a girl scout leader my whole time in girl scouts, being active in my PTA and school, and active in all of our extracurricular activities. So here I am now, with my kids and one other family of 2 looking to add a few more playmates and finally be able to include my mom. We have decided that even though this is a joint venture I would be more involved with the older kids and she would be more involved with the babies, but it wouldn t be exclusive. I have not totally set my prices yet, but have discussed with a few people what I am looking at and they say it seems very reasonable. Honestly, I want to make money, but I don't want to make other families go broke. I know how expensive it is for daycare and I don't charge as much as they do. Because of my education and my mother s experience we can provide you and your children quality service along with a save environment. After having kids of my own and being at two different daycares, I feel that there is too much pressure placed on kids to "grow up" so I have a play based atmosphere. Children DO numerous things just by the simple act of playing especially when adults interact with them while playing. There are some traditional things I do like reading books daily, singing song, and a weekly art project. All of which still teach the children things.
