Licensed home childcare center providing specialized care. I take the time to know your child and nurture proper growth and development. Featuring 1800 square feet of play space with a separate entrance from the home. I care for 4 children full-day up to 5 years of age with the occasional drop-in after school child. I develop curriculum based on the individual child's needs. We do learning through organized activities as well as play. For infants, that would include singing, tactile exploration, tummy time, etc. As the child grows older, working on language, motor skills, encouraging curiosity and problem solving. I also focus on Kindergarten readiness. I have a degree in education with a minor in speech therapy and have been certified in vision therapy. To provide a well-rounded experience we include music and cooking classes and quarterly field trips.

ZECC has been a part of the Hopkins community since 2001. We are a small facility, licensed for 62 children, with a faith-based mission and a child-centered philosophy. Our planning is intentional, with the whole child in mind. We are next to Burnes Park and are able to utilize the park's greenspace, playground, and the Splash Pad in summer. Our staff turnover is very low and we serve families for many years. We are open year-round Monday through Friday, from 7AM until 5:30PM, although we are closed the nine "major" holidays and the week between Chirstmas and New Year's Day.

Kate L. says "Our family has three children enrolled at ZECC. The care and support our family has received over the past four years has been wonderful. The past two years...

We are committed to an environment that is nurturing & supportive, playful, and diverse. Our goal is to help your child increase their social & emotional skills and get them Kindergarten-ready. And we do it all in Spanish! Our mission is to "Give Children the World" and make the world smaller one child at a time. It might sound like a lofty goal but we believe that by teaching a child another language and culture, we open his or her eyes to the world around them. We learn ways we are different and ways we are the same. We start to understand each other a little bit more.

LeahS S. says "My 2 kids go to Mis Amigos. We have had a great experience. They receive very thorough care, and both of my kids really love it. "

Heather's In Home Day Care

Hello! My name is Heather, I am currently 24 weeks pregnant and expecting my first baby in August. I am in the process right now of getting licensed to run my own in home day care. My services will be available starting November 4, 2013. I am looking to take care of just ONE or TWO children in my home during the day. I will have my finished basement set up for childcare. We have a good size yard that will allow for the children to go outside and play. I plan to run my in home daycare like a preschool. We will have a daily routine that will include: Educational Learning, Arts & Crafts, Play Time, Snack/Lunch Time, Outdoor time & nap time (If needed). About Me: I am 27 years old and recently moved to the Twin Cities from Florida for my husbands job. I have my bachelors degree in Communications from Florida Southern College. At one point during my college career I almost changed my major to Education, so I have taken a few child education classes. I graduated college right as the market was crashing in 2008 and I took a job as a portrait photographer at a studio in Orlando, Fl. I worked with children of all ages all day long and it brought so much joy to my life. I have also worked as a nanny for 2 families (one family in Florida, one family in Minnesota). Aside from that, I also grew up babysitting all the neighbors children. Needless to say, I adore children and look forward to talking to some of you about your child care needs.
