Since ASAPSitters, LLC launched in 2008, we have provided babysitters for over 1,000 families in the Northern Viginia, DC and Charlottesville. Many of our new clients are referred by families that are already a part of the "ASAPSitters family" - folks already using our experienced and reliable babysitters. I believe this is a true testament to the quality of our babysitters and service! We take great pride in being able to match families up with trustworthy, creative, and dependable babysitters. As a mom myself, I would settle for nothing less. As a locally based service, we interview all of our babysitters during a very thorough screening process. We are also privileged to connect directly with local families who join ASAPS - and maintain a relationship with both our babysitters and families on an ongoing basis. We're very exited about how ASAPSitters has continued to grow and how we are a little part of that "village" it takes to raise a child. We are working on expanding our services to meet the needs of families in other nearby areas. In 2012, we opened a new branch in Charlottesville, VA in addition to our DC Metro area region. And in 2015, we opened our Richmond area branch. We hope to grow to serve more wonderful families in the near future!

Nena Childcare, LLC

5708 Sierra Dr Roanoke, VA

Hello, and thank you for looking into my home daycare, Nena Marie Childcare! I have worked in the childcare industry since I was 19 years old when I started as a camp counselor for the YMCA. Within 3 months, I was promoted to Site Director of the program and it was through the experience of playing, guiding, teaching and leading that I realized my passion for childcare. After graduating from college, I spent a few years in the corporate world, but the combination of being away from my own child for most of the day, and serving in various, unfulfilling careers, eventually gave rise to my desire to return to childcare, and do so in a more meaningful way. I launched Nena Marie Childcare in August 2013, serving parents of babies from 8 weeks old up to school-aged children. I offer full, and part-time care, as well as drop-in care for parents who need the occasional provider, and before/after school care for bus-riding children. We are open from 7:00AM to 6:30PM Monday through Friday, and are typically closed exclusively on national holidays if they fall on a weekday (Christmas, New Year's Day, Labor Day, Fourth of July, etc.). Throughout my time in childcare I continue to pass all required background checks, including Child Protective Services, and Criminal History. I maintain certifications in adult and pediatric CPR, First Aid, AED, and Medicine Administration (MAT), and my daycare is voluntarily registered under the Department of Social Services registered programs. My business is licensed and reports to the IRS. During the day, our children enjoy safe, age-appropriate, fun, and varied activities in a structured and predictable format. We enjoy outdoor time whether in the grass or on the swingset in my fenced-in backyard, listen to music, play with toys, read books, do crafts, and have nap/quiet time. Morning and afternoon snacks are provided, and parents are asked to provide breakfast (if needed), and lunch. What makes Nena Marie Childcare different from other, traditional home-daycare providers is attention to detail. Each day, parents are sent an email summary of their child's activities (and photos via text message), and parents can expect that their child is playing, learning, and interacting throughout the day with the provider, rather than the provider mostly monitoring. Communication, sensory, and number skills are of particular focus, and many activities are geared towards these disciplines. Tutoring or homework help available for school-aged.

Krista's In Home Childcare

Krista's Home Childcare I currently watch my son (9 months) and another young one (7 1/2 months) in my home. I am looking for one more child to watch, but no more than that, as I believe in giving each child lots of individualized, positive attention. I started babysitting at the age of 12 and teaching swimming lessons/working camps starting at the age of 16. I have current certifications with Red Cross in CPR/AED, Water Safety Instructor, and Lifeguard/First Aid. I have taken two hands on, college level, Early Childhood Education classes and am currently taking Education classes (nights and weekends) toward my Special Education major online. I have 24 credit hours finished with a 4.0 GPA. I have successfully scheduled (flexible schedule) two babies this year along with helping them hit and exceed all cognitive, social, and physical skills in the recommended time frame. I believe that reading books, singing songs, and time outside in our large yard provides babies the activities they need to grow and develop into happy and healthy children. I am looking forward to adding one more child to our family.
