I took care of my mother-in-law with dementia. After she passed, I volunteered in a memory-care facility once a week for 6 years until Covid. I even earned the 2018 Volunteer of the Year award for the Southern California Association of Activity Professionals for Memory Care facilities. Both my parents died young so I never had the privilege of taking care of them when they were older. I love taking care of seniors because this is my way of honoring my parents. I'd describe my personality as patient and empathetic. I pride myself on having a positive attitude. I have a very recent Livescan report including FBI and DMV check. I also have a recent (clear) TB test. I'm looking for a job that gives me purpose. My sons are grown and I'm recently retired so I'm looking for a sense of purpose in my life. My skills include working with people with memory-care issues. I also carry certifications in first aid, CPR, and blood borne pathogens.
