About Sylvia

I am a semi retired Early Childhood Special Education teacher and former Peace Corps Volunteer who worked with deaf students in the West Indies. I have taught students of all abilities from birth to high school. At present I substitute in special needs classrooms and volunteer as a crafts leader for children at the Salem Dream Center. I have a positive , humorous and loving personality . When subbing or caring for a child I always carry my Mary Poppins bag of tricks, toys and activities geared toward each child's needs. I love nature and animals . A visit to the park or a walk through a forest is something I enjoy. I have traveled extensively and enjoy exploring new places. If I look for work , it is working with children that I most enjoy.. In my spare time I enjoy gardening, cooking for friends and family, reading, swimming, writing, board games, theater and concerts.
