About Shelby

I'm new to the area but not new to nannying - my husband and I are moving to Takoma Park in August for him to attend a doctoral program at UMD. We are moving from the Boston area where I nannied and worked at a university. I have a degree in theatre arts and began my career working in children's theater. I spent the past few years working in an office at a university which was lovely. But now I'm excited to dive back into nannying. I find myself happiest when laughing with kids, playing games, teaching them songs and dances or just getting to know about their lives. With a strong academic background, I'm a big fan of organization and also seek to always treat kids with mutual respect and good manners. I like to have adventures with kids but I also enjoy quiet moments of reading, learning, and playing. Additionally I like helping with some household tasks (I love a tidy play room during nap time or helping with bottle washing, etc) I've mostly worked with ages 6 months-10 years old.
