With that, I have 12+ yrs in competitive swimming and have participated in various music competitions. I also have experience in sight reading and music theory. I am calm and quick to handle extreme situations. I'm fun, creative, very patient and I'm stern when I need to be. I put my heart and soul into everything I do, which has only helped me create long lasting relationships with every single family I have ever worked with. Shawn was our nanny for 3 years - watching my daughter during the school year, plus my school aged boys during summer breaks. Shawn started when my daughter was 3 years old and was instrumental in guiding her through the preschool years in preparation for kindergarten. Shawn is wonderful at providing organization and structure to the kids day. She helped to prepare meals, guided them towards age-appropriate chores and self-guided tasks like dressing themselves, learning to tie shoes, bringing dishes into the kitchen. She also loves to plan fun outings for the kids to get out of the house and explore the many kid-friendly options around town (zoo, indoor playgrounds, outdoor hikes, etc.). She helped to organize our spaces to be more kid-friendly (playroom, bathroom organization, kids snacks in the pantry, etc.). Shawn is playful, loves singing with the kids, helping them with homework/kindergarten readiness, and just overall life skills. We parted ways when my daughter went to kindergarten, but my daughter is still coming home from school with drawings about her adventures with Shawn. I would highly recommend Shawn and am happy to chat with anyone interested in hiring her.
