About Shana

I have a special gift with children. They are the light of my life. I have 2 grown children of my own, whom I homeschooled as they were growing up. I chose not to have a career outside the home and instead took on the task of being a full time stay at home mom. When my daughter was 11 years old, she was diagnosed with cancer. During that year of our lives, I was thrown into the task of caregiver and part-time nurse for her. I had to learn a lot of the medical side of her care. Such as daily cleaning her central line, where her chemo went straight into her heart. I also had to care for her while in patient as well as outpatient, monitoring her levels and making sure she was safe from any kind of infections that should result from life outside the hospital. I've served in the children's ministry area of my local church off and on. I've also worked in several Reshab companies doing direct support for children and adults with disabilities for the past 4 years.
