About Sega

I started working with kids through family and friends after coming to the US. I completed high school and community college courses but always knew that working with kids was my consistent passion. During COVID, I had an opportunity to work for five families in a pod setting, caring for children and teaching based on the Montessori method. To do so, I was guided by a certified Montessori teacher in Tacoma WA, who was one of the moms. These experiences led me to complete my undergraduate degree in education, with minors in sociology and education in social justice work. I feel called to working with kids, to understand their individual needs and to help them navigate their development through joy and exploration. This can happen through books, time in nature, interactive museums and listening. I have learned to value input and clear communication with parents and families. This helps me understand family values, expectations and if any specific needs should be addressed.
