About Sam

Hi! My name is Sam, and I'm a 27 y/o nanny with a background in psychology and a passion for helping children learn and grow. I graduated from Amherst College in 2021 with a degree in Psychology. My strongest academic areas include English, writing, art, science, social studies, and psychology. I have four years of tutoring experience- 2 years volunteering at the ABC House in Darien and 2 years privately tutoring Darien High School students. I believe in adapting to each student's learning style, building confidence, and creating a supportive environment. I'm excited to return to tutoring because I love helping kids & YA discover their strengths. I believe every child deserves the opportunity to learn and succeed. Sometimes, all it takes is a little extra time, patience, encouragement, and individualized support. My goal is to make learning approachable and rewarding while helping each student build the skills and confidence to thrive.
