I am a certified Postpartum Doula, Special Needs Caretaker and Nanny. For over 10 years I have had the pleasure of working with a range of ages and abilities in special needs capacity. I support play based learning and have extra training around social and emotional growth in regard to behavioral health and other emotional or special needs. I also have experience working with LGBTQ+ communities and non white/European communities. I am a part of a lineage of Somatic healers and practitioners in the Bay Area. I am committed to bring this mind/body awareness into the current work I do with children during this time of Pandemic; our children are confronting even on a subconscious level layers of contagion, isolation, instability, sickness and death. Somatic theory can point to all the ways our bodies are deeply connected to one another. Somatic practice can offer tools for processing grief, creating boundaries, connecting to one another, feeling joy, navigating conflict and more.

Rose helped care for my son starting from when he was just 4 months old. My husband and I immediately felt comfortable entrusting her with our son, even at such a young age, because of Rose's warm, tender, conscientious, fun, bright, and thoughtful care as well as her knowledge of child development, her patience, and how attuned she was to his needs. Rose was always punctual. She listened to our instructions, but also gently helped guide us as new parents as his needs shifted in those early months. She fed him both bottle and solid food, played with him, sang to him, read to him, and taught us new ways to do all those things, as well as helping with some chores. I would be thrilled to hire Rose again to care for my son at any age. We miss her already!
