Experience: 10 yrs
I have been a sitter for over 20 years, and am currently pursuing a master's degree in child psychology. I have experience caring for kids of all ages, and am comfortable working with larger families and children with special needs. Caring for children is something about which I am passionate and which I feel a calling to pursue. As a sitter I strive to strike a balance between energetic play and calm structure. I see my job as having 3 primary duties. Most important, keeping everyone safe. Next, maintaining the house rules and routine, so children have a sense of stability when their parents are gone. Finally, I want to engage with the kids I am watching and help them have fun- I want "having a sitter" to be a positive experience, something to which they look forward! In addition to sitting I teach in the children's ministry at church and volunteer with BBBS, and have tutored and taught a children's martial arts class. My space here is limited, but I'd be happy to chat further.
Richard has been a HUGE help to our family! He has helped with bus pickup and shuttling to activities when one of us is traveling for work. He is a great communicator, always on time, and goes above and beyond helping us manage logistics by keeping our kids (ages 12, 9, 7) entertained!
