About Richard

I have been a sitter for over 20 years. I have experience caring for kids of all ages, and am comfortable working with larger families and children with special needs. Working with children is something about which I am passionate and which I feel a calling to pursue. As a sitter I strive to strike a balance between energetic play and calm structure. I see my job as having 3 primary duties. Most importantly, keeping the children that I am watching safe. Next, to maintain the house rules and routine, so that children have a sense of stability when their parents are gone. Finally, I want to engage with the kids I am watching and help them have fun- I want "having a sitter" to be a positive experience, something to which they look forward! In addition to sitting I teach in the children's ministry at church, teach a children's martial arts class, and I volunteer with BBBS. My space here is limited, but I'd be happy to chat further.
