Hello! I am currently a graduate student getting my M. S. in mental health counseling and working full time in a special education subset classroom with K-5 students. I have been working in this role as a paraprofessional for two years, and have close experience with kiddos diagnosed with autism, Down syndrome, intellectual disability, ADHD, cortical visual impairment, and other developmental and cognitive disabilities. I have experience assisting kids with special needs academically, socially, and emotionally, and I work with them to increase independence and self esteem. I have also worked closely with a BCBA and use ABA skills and trials on a daily basis at my job. Somehow between graduate school and work I still have some time on my hands, and I would love to find a family that could use some extra help for a few hours a week (ideally 5-10 hours on a somewhat regular basis).
