About Raquel

As an educator, my goal is to help all students reach their full potential. During my 20-year career as a Florida Certified teacher, I have created engaging environments where students feel safe and supported. I am patient and willing to adapt my methods to fit your child's specific needs. Clear, consistent communication with both students and parents are also utilized to make sure we are on the right track. With a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education, Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction, I am comfortable teaching reading, language arts, phonics, math, social studies, and science. I have a special interest in working with neurodivergent children, dyslexia, and other learning disabilities, which led me to getting Orton- Gillingham training. I have experience with homeschooling and FLVS. Seeing students gain the independence to succeed without my help is the most rewarding part of my work.
