Experience: 10 yrs
I'm a certified home health aide with over 30 years of experience working with the elderly population in numerous settings (i. e. own homes, assisted living facilities and nursing homes). I recently was the owner of a licensed 4 bed Adult Family Home. For 7 years we cared for women with physical disabilities and chronic mental illness and we made a difference! I have a lifetime of memories from this experience. I'm experienced in: working with Alzheimer's, dementia, Parkinson's, stroke, diabetic care, frail, mental illness, and much more. I am able to assist with: all ADL's, incontinence care, medications administration (certified), transfers, housekeeping, meal prep, activities, errands, companionship, and much more. I'm passionate about care giving because I see the difference I can make in the lives of others through my services. I enjoy helping others live life to the fullest.
Peggy worked with our family for three years, and after having several caregivers over the years, she was by far the very best. She cared for my mother with genuine love, compassion, and dignity — as if she were caring for her own family member. Peggy anticipated my mom’s every need and handled everything with patience and kindness. She managed her medications, took her to countless appointments — including doctors, therapy, hair and nail appointments — and made sure she was always comfortable and cared for. One memory that especially stands out is when Peggy helped my mom into a wheelchair and took her outside for a walk on a beautiful day, even when we didn’t think she was well enough to leave the house. My mom absolutely loved it. My mother adored Peggy and depended on her deeply. She was always disappointed when Peggy’s shift ended. Over time, Peggy became more than a caregiver — she became part of our family. We sadly lost my mom, and we miss her every day. We also miss Peggy very much and will always be grateful for the love, comfort, and peace of mind she gave all of us during such an important time in our lives.
