About Paula
Experience: 8 yrs
I first worked with many senior citizens when I was a manager at IFC Homestart in Chapel Hill. This is a women and children's shelter. During that time I also cared for my Grandmother who was ill for sometime. My son passed away in 2013 and he had a clotting disorder. He was in and out of Duke Hospital for years and I was his main caregiver . I have a great deal of healthcare knowledge and have been trained in first aid and CPR . I worked in a preschool for a year and I then was a nanny for 2 infants for 2 years after my Son died . I have worked with many senior citizens volunteering through my church . I have also helped with several terminally ill patients in the last several years. I can take blood pressure and monitor your vitals as well as your oxygen levels and renal function if need be. I would be interested in full or part time. I am a very good companion. My last 8 years have been with Alzheimer's or dementia patients . I am happy to provide references.

Paula has been with us since my father-in-law came to live with us 6 years ago. Choosing her was the best decision I could have made. She quickly became like a family member. There hasn’t been a day we couldn’t both go to work because of lack of coverage. She oversaw finding other people when we needed additional help. She was knowledgeable about his condition and educated us. She gave loving care to dad. When we made a couple of bad hires she dropped everything to take over. Paula is kind, sensitive, diplomatic, reliable, honest, insightful, and responsible. She handles everything with grace. Her priority was his safety and quality of life. I recommend her without reservation!
