About Morgan

One summer, I had the privilege of caring for a woman with dementia named Ms. Bonnie. I spent my days sitting with her, listening to her stories -- sometimes repeated, sometimes brand new -- and meeting her exactly where she was. I helped with meals, light housework, groceries, and medication reminders, and I tried to be a steady, calming presence in her home. Although Ms. Bonnie didn't always remember the details of her day, she had a beautiful muscle memory for the piano, and I encouraged her to play often. I also ensured her safety, including preventing her from smoking while using her oxygen machine, which she attempted more than once. Caring for her taught me so much about patience, dignity, and the small moments that bring comfort.
