About Mik

I am a graduate student studying elementary education with early childcare experience spanning over 10 years. Currently, I am student teaching in a first grade classroom and am loving it! Most recently, I worked as a nanny for an autistic child for 3 years, from the age of 8 months to 3. 5 years. Prior to this I was a Montessori preschool assistant for 4 years. The Montessori philosophy strongly informs my methods of interacting with children and my outlook on education. I am creative, compassionate, and enjoy working as a team with families to give their children the best experience possible. I am willing to help carpool as well as do light chores around the house. Currently I am looking for as needed babysitting opportunities, with most of my availability being on the weekends and evenings, but always happy to chat about times that work for everyone! Mik is phenomenal! Prompt, great communication, followed instructions to a T. She has cared for my 3 kids, one of whom has non-verbal autism with high support needs. She treats all of my kids with patience and compassion, and I come home to giggles and stories of everything they did together. It's hard to leave my kids with someone, especially with a disabled child, but with Mik I am not constantly checking my phone. I know she has it under control.
