About Mika

I hold my Texas teacher certification (early childhood through grade 6) which is valid through 2030. My background: I started with my undergraduate degree in research psychology from The University of Texas at San Antonio where I designed a research proposal on children's motivation in creative tasks. My first job after graduating was as an applied behavioral analyst for children with autism aged 3-12 years. From there, I went back to UTSA to get my early childhood through grade 6 Texas teacher certification. I then worked as a reading interventionist where I taught kids with dyslexia and other reading challenges to read, write and spell. After that, I worked as a 2nd grade classroom teacher for 3 years. Last school year (25/26) I taught pre-K special-ed in NEISD. I have also worked with many families as a nanny/in home teacher through Care. I'm an invested, nurturing caregiver and teacher.
