I am a seasoned teacher who has taught for 23 years in public and private schools. I am certified to teach Bilingual and ESL students in a self-contained classroom for grades 1st through 8th grade. I have taught from 1st through 8th grade, the majority of my years in 4th and 5th grade. I have mostly worked with "At-Risk" students and have been quite successful in their academic growth rate. I received my Bachelor of Arts degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from UTSA in 1992. In 2008, I received my Masters of Arts in Advanced Literacy from Concordia University-Texas. Although I did receive my Masters in reading, I believe I'm a better math teacher because I struggled in math. I'm able to understand the students' misunderstandings because I was that student.
When I'm not working, I enjoy spending time with my 3 rescue dogs. So, if you have dogs, I don't have any issues with them.
I look forward to working with your child and get her/him reach their academic potential.
