About Melissa

I have a BA and MA in psychology and 8 years of experience working with children (I'm 31). New to this platform but have multiple references! I am patient, caring. and love getting to know little ones and their unique personalities! For the last 3 years, I have been in full-time substitute teaching roles, both short and long-term. I am experienced and comfortable with autism and other developmental differences, and spent nearly 2 years in preschool classrooms, including mod/severe special ed. I am committed to a gentle, curious, and level-headed demeanor no matter who I am caring for. Prior to working with the school district, I spent four years in a role which involved teaching youth emotional awareness, communication skills, hiking, and playing fun games! Especially since I am new to the platform, I'm more than happy to video call, meet up, or whatever makes you comfortable before you book with me! I love pets and am happy to care for them along with the kids.
