About Melissa

I am a doctoral student with a BA and MA in psychology, with 8 years of experience working with children (I'm 31). I am patient, caring, and love getting to know kids and their unique personalities. Most recently, I worked with two families as a caregiver and nanny and have positive references from both. Previously, I was a full-time substitute teacher in both short and long-term roles for 3 years. I am experienced and comfortable with autism and other developmental differences and spent 2 years in preschool classrooms, including mod/severe special ed. I am committed to a gentle, curious, and level-headed demeanor no matter who I am caring for. Prior to working with the school district, I spent four years in a role which involved teaching youth emotional awareness, communication skills, hiking, and playing fun games. I'm more than happy to video call, meet up, or whatever makes you comfortable before you book with me! I love pets and am happy to care for them along with the kids.
