About Melissa

Hello! My name is Melissa, I am 27 years old, and I have a Chemical Engineering degree from UC Davis, and a license as a Professional Chemical Engineer with the State of CA. I have been tutoring for over 3 years, maintaining an average of about 15 hours per week in the school year. I tutor in the evenings after my regular work day as an engineer. I typically tutor high school math, chemistry, and physics. In high school I scored a 2000 on my SAT, 5s on both the calculus AP exams, and a 4 on the Language AP exam. To get my engineering license I had to pass two 6-8 hour engineering exams. I understand that tests can cause a lot of stress for students and I am here to help them feel comfortable and confident going into any exam! I am currently only tutoring online as my schedule is too full to accommodate in-person sessions. Online tutoring has been extremely successful for my students and I believe can work for anyone.
