I began tutoring students during the summer of my sophomore year in high school. I began tutoring students on the elementary school level in math and reading. Upon graduating high school, I attended Francis Marion University. While there I received a bachelors' of Science in Middle school Education English and History. During college, I worked at the local YMCA as a kindergarten after-school counselor and a one on one tutor for children with severe ADHD. As a special needs teacher assistant, my job consisted of working with students with learning disabilities. I have currently been working in Charlotte Mecklenburg school district for the past 7 years as a middle school teacher. I am currently in school to receive my English as a second language certification. Teaching and tutoring is my passion and I am here to help.

Professional and Flexible care! I am a CMS teacher and I hired Melanie during the transition from remote teaching to hybrid learning. She was extremely flexible with the district's continuous changes and worked with me on providing care for my two young children. She was very punctual and dependable for the 7-4pm M-F shift I needed. I really appreciated the energetic supportive care taking she provided for my young children. Melanie created lessons suitable for preschoolers and always incorporated learning that encouraged independence. Her experience as a certified teacher was definitely apparent in her daily professionalism. We enjoyed Melanie in our home very much. I highly recommend her services!
