About Melanie

I am a certified special education teacher (birth through age 21) and general education teacher (kindergarten through sixth grade). I graduated from UMD with my Bachelor's in May 2020 and my Master's in May 2021, both in Special Education. Throughout college I worked in multiple different classrooms with students ranging from kindergarten to middle school across all subject areas. My year-long, student teaching internship took place at a middle school in MCPS with a class of students who have moderate disabilities. My experience is mainly with students who have disabilities, which includes general education inclusion students with disabilities like ADHD and learning disabilities. I am very familiar with common core grade level standards and Maryland elementary school curricula. I've been a part time private tutor for over three years, and have worked in the classroom setting for over seven.
