About Maya

I have a background in Waldorf education and bring its child-centered, creative, and developmentally responsive principles into my work as an educator and tutor. Most recently, I worked as a Lead Guide at The Learning Studio, supporting students ages 6 to 14 through individualized learning experiences in core academics, creative projects, and hands-on activities. My tutoring approach is personalized, engaging, and encouraging. I help students strengthen academic skills while building confidence, independence, organization, and a genuine love of learning. I adapt my teaching style to each child's needs, interests, and developmental stage, using creative and practical approaches to make lessons meaningful. I support students with reading, writing, math, homework, study skills, and projects. When appropriate, I also incorporate art, nature, and hands-on learning. My goal is to create a supportive environment where students feel capable, curious, and excited to learn.
