About Mary

I recently moved to Columbus, Ohio for a research position at Nationwide Children's Hospital. I graduated from Duke University in May and I am originally from South Florida. I love spending time with kids and I would love to tutor in the afternoons after 430. I have lots of experience working with kids of all ages, mostly in educational settings! In high school, I tutored seventh grade geometry regularly. I am also comfortable working with children on anything from early elementary math to geometry and algebra. Outside of math, I can tutor any of the major subjects through middle school. While at Duke, I worked with over a hundred preschoolers in a classroom setting administering different educational/psychological tests and needed to present them in fun and engaging ways. I had to employ similar strategies while working closely with a group of first and second graders who had different learning and behavioral problems in a literacy-focused summer camp.
