New to Care
This is the background check we require for all caregivers.
I can offer support for students K-12 who need the following remediation: - End of Course exams in Civics (7th grade) - Summer homework assignments - reading - Maintenance of academic skills throughout the summer to ensure smooth transition to the next grade level. - Gap-filling for students struggling with concepts in - Spanish and French - especially helpful for graduation requirements and college language course preparation - Reading comprehension/phonemic awareness for all students including those studying for citizenship exams, GED and English as a Foreign Language. - Adult learners needing assistance with online courses. - Homeschoolers who want to learn a language. - Virtual school students. - Seniors wanting to learn a language or to have someone read to them because of vision issues. - College essay reviews and editing assistance. - College students with ADHD/ADD. - Students who are home-bound or in a long-term stay at a hospital who need help with their schoolwork. - Students going through RTI process or have an IEP. I can come to your home or meet in a library/coffee shop. My approach is to start with evaluating student work, identifying weaknesses and creating goals for improving both grades and comprehension. I take big concepts and break them into more manageable pieces to ensure success. I am friendly and approachable and consistently use positive reinforcement to build self esteem. My rates are reasonable and can be negotiated. I love working with students of all ages and enjoy the academic relationships and the positive cognitive growth that comes out of them. I look forward to helping you or your student(s) improve their grades and test scores. Please refrain from contacting me if you are also a tutor and just looking to compare rates. I am a certified teacher who has extensive classroom experience in teaching French and Spanish as well as experience tutoring one on one and feel my easy-going personality is a big plus for my students but do encourage students to think critically and gather resources to make the most out of each session.

I think she is a hard worker and does what she needs to get the job done. She will independently seek outside resources if needed to complete the task.
