About Marissa

I have been tutoring kids off and on for about a couple of years or so. It's mostly been just occasional when kids need help for tests or are just struggling in general. I can tutor in most subjects. Reading, English, and math are my stronger points but I will be happy to assist with other subjects to the best of my ability. I enjoy breaking things down for people to understand in a better way. Sometimes I find that drawing pictures or being more visual helps in the learning process. Sometimes teachers tend to teach faster than some children can learn. I know because that's exactly how I was in school. But for me I had to study extra hard and I would understand it if I drew things out. I tend to explain things in detail and I have found that that helps as well in the learning process. I can also assist in basic to advanced cooking lessons as well. Cooking is one of my favorite things to do and I have learned a lot on my own; but my uncle is a professional chef and has taught me a lot as well.
