About Maria

Hi! My name is Maria. In my early 20s, I spent about 4 years working privately for several families with children with cognitive and/or physical differences. From there, I transitioned into ABA therapy and was a Registered Behavior Technician for about 3 years. Most recently, I've spent the past 7 years teaching at a nonprofit educational program for young people with neurological differences, primarily autism. The classes I developed and implemented curriculum for centered creative expression, diversity awareness, workplace readiness, life skills, self-advocacy, and self-regulation. In my role, I also mentored students individually, helping them identify, set, and acheive personal and professional goals. I absolutely love what I do! I have a brother with autism and having him in my life has led me to develop a passion for working with students of all abilities. I can provide excellent references upon request.
