About Maria

I have significant experience following and creating lesson plans, both with individuals and groups. In the past, I've spent time in schools with small groups of students (1-4), helping them to better understand concepts such as reading, writing, and math. I especially enjoy working with neurodivergent students and have developed a toolbox of strategies specifically for this! I also enjoy working with middle and high schoolers. I have spent the past three years working in a mental health day program for teens ages 12-18, planning and facilitating skills groups. Some of what I have done with students before is: - Teach and practice organizational skills to aid in schoolwork completion - Communication skills - Support while completing academic work (for elementary, all subjects; for teens, mainly social studies and language arts) - Provide constructive feedback and support for presentations, speeches, etc If you have questions about what I am comfortable helping with let me know!
