About Maddy

I'd describe my personality as calm, empathetic, funny. I like tutoring because I always enjoyed being in school (and still do!) and I think that 1:1 work is highly effective for building confidence and finding out what works for us. I'm looking for a job that is flexible, as I am currently in nursing school and my schedule and demands vary. I started tutoring when I worked at educational summer camps for children ages 4 to 12, and did occasional 1:1 tutoring as well. I frequently do informal tutoring with my classmates. In my spare time, I enjoy running, cycling, yoga, and dance classes. I like walking with my senior dog, and I love to cook as well. In the evenings I usually wind down with a tv show and/or a book. My skills include being responsive to a student's needs and parent preferences, I don't think that learning happens in only one way, as we all think differently. I am patient, which is a necessary skill for tutoring. And I love being a student!
