About Jaylinn

I'd describe my personality as patient, calm, and inquisitive. I like tutoring because I enjoy working with children on processing information and acquiring new skills! I'm looking for a job that is challenging and rewarding, and is after school or early evenings, as I pursue a Master's Degree. I started tutoring during summers while on break between school years. I have also tutored during my college years. In my spare time, I like to folk dance. I am a sitting Board member of Chang's International Folk dancers and enjoy going to their weekly dance, as well as other dance parties throughout the Bay Area. Music is my passion! One thing you should know about me is that I am also a parent; my son has grown and is doing quite well in college. My skills include making repetitious activities fun, I ask guiding questions suited for each individual student's learning goals, and work to support the students academic ownership and metacognition, or self awareness as a learner.
