About Lillian

Starting in 2011, I volunteered in my little sister's preschool classroom for fun after school and babysat for several families in my town. In 2012, I volunteered at the YMCA with the After the Bell program; I would help elementary schoolers with their homework, then supervise (and sometimes join in on) free play time. I also regularly volunteered with Y Team and Y Camp. In 2016, I worked for two years at the UW Children's Center as an assistant teacher while earning a bachelor's degree from UW in Education, Communities, and Organizations. I studied Early Childhood Family Studies, Early Childhood Education, Resiliency & Wellness, Educational Policy, and Educational Psychology. I worked with infants and toddlers, but the majority of time I worked in the preschool classroom. Many of my courses involved volunteering in youth settings. I also spent a quarter volunteering three days a week in a fourth grade classroom at Madrona Elementary School.
