I was a direct support specialist for 1 1/2 years. Worked with individuals at home and at a day center. Assisted with mental and physical activities to exercise mind and body. Provided assistance with career development for independence. Assisted with transports with needed. Encouraged and motivated independence and talents. Showered, changed clothes, and attended to hair when needed. Cooked with individual and provided outside activities such as bowling and movies once a week.
