About Laura

I'm Laura, a National Certified Counselor and Certified Thanatologist looking for kind families to support. Through my graduate education in counseling and thanatology (the study of death, dying, and bereavement) as well as my volunteerism in hospice, I have had the privilege of working with seniors and their families. I've provided group, couples, and individual grief therapy for a continuing care retirement community, and in private practice. I've also provided respite care for hospice families and companionship for seniors. This included supporting older adults with meal preparation and light housework, and providing socialization. I'm experienced in engaging with people with dementia, Alzheimer's, and aphasia resulting from atrophy or stroke. I am passionate about treating seniors with dignity, respect and value, with the goal of helping people live optimally in the later phases of life.
