About Laura

I started serving seniors during my sophomore year of high school (about four years ago). I went to the local nursing home with my mom and helped her give communion. I eventually started taking over for her. I would give the people communion, talk to them and make them comfortable. If they needed anything I made sure to contact a nurse. I went on a mission trip the summer before my senior year of high school. I worked in a senior living center, where I helped paint furniture and talked to the residents. I also helped put on a "carnival" for them. During my first semester, freshman year of college, I performed service learning at Vitas Hospice. I mostly shadowed, but still had contact with seniors.
