About Lalia

We interviewed Laila and encountered several red flags. One was that she said she had copious experience with memory care because she cares for her mother with dementia/alzheimer's. When I asked how often she sees her mother, she said, "Oh, I only see her once a week" and later said that she can't really know if her mother is taking her meds properly. She was only interested in starting with one or two 2-3 hour shifts a week and would prefer to make $50/hour. My impression was that she wanted an easy job that would pay well and not encroach too much on her schedule. The next day, she messaged us first thing in the morning and said she would be unavailable because she was moving back to California, which seemed very sudden, and from her profile she still seems to be seeking work in Portland. I have no issue with someone deciding that a job isn't the right fit and being honest about that, but I would be hesitant to hire someone who seems loose with the truth.
