About Kathy

I was a volunteer aid in a nursing home during middle school and part of high school. I worked in a nursing homes after I graduated from high school. Unfortunately I had to have back surgery and couldn't go back to that type of work. Over the last 20 years I have cared for both of my parents and in laws while they were alive. My mom had cancer, my dad congestive heart failure, my mother in law had dementia and my father in law had heart issues. My brother fell, broke his neck and had to have 2 surgeries. I took care for him for over a year. I also have a brother with Downs, I am his guardian and take him out often. I am one of eight, 2nd child, 1st girl, so I have had plenty of care taking experience over the years. I also started baby sitting at the age of 12. I enjoy talking to the older generation, love listening to their stories, taking them for walks or going for a ride in the car.
