About Kathleen

Hello! My name is Kathleen . I have been working with children since I started babysitting over 10 years ago. I have three years working in a professional setting as a preschool teacher at an outdoor school where I garnered a deeper understanding of childhood development and education through trainings, staff development, and mentorship. I also received my CDA and yearly CPR training during my time there. I use a gentle but firm approach to childcare with a child centered view on learning. I believe in giving children agency and the confidence to use their words to get what they need. I believe that children thrive in the natural world and need the opportunity to explore and observe the outdoors. I have experience working with children with high needs in a school setting, as well as using sensory tools, language cards, and visuals schedules and timers to help students get through their day. I also have some experience nannying an infant and caring for babies under a year.
