About Kaelen

Hi! I'm 25 and live in Encinitas, CA. I have more than eight years of experience working with children of all ages. I'd describe my personality as patient, motivating, and kind-spirited. In college, I fell in love with reading and writing while earning my degree in psychology and philosophy. These subjects gave me substantial background knowledge in human behavior, learning, development, communication, reading, and writing. Although I have not held a formal tutoring position, teaching and academic support have been consistent parts of my work with children. Becoming a lifelong learner has also become one of my strongest personal values. My skills include reading, writing, study skills, philosophy, psychology, human/family/child development, personal statements. I want the students I work with to feel comfortable asking questions, making mistakes, and discovering what helps learning feel fun and manageable for them.
