About Julia
Experience: 6 yrs
Hello! My name is Julia and I offer personalized reading tutoring for children who need extra support with literacy skills. I bring over 9 years of homeschooling experience with my two daughters, along with 5 years working in school settings in Special Education across multiple grade levels. I am trained in the Orton-Gillingham approach, a proven, multi-sensory method for teaching reading-especially helpful for children with dyslexia or reading difficulties. Originally from Brazil, I am bilingual and understand the challenges and strengths of learning in a second language. While I do speak with an accent, I bring clear communication, strong phonics instruction, and a nurturing approach that builds confidence and love for reading. If you're looking for a patient, experienced, warm, and dedicated tutor to help your child thrive in reading, I would love to connect!

Last year, my son had some challenges with sight words, letter sounds, and often mixed up letters. I didn’t want him to fall further behind as he entered 1st grade, so I began looking for a tutor. That’s when I found Julia through Care.com—and we couldn’t be happier. She’s incredible: patient, knowledgeable, and truly understands what my son needs to build his reading skills. She’s been a blessing to our family. My son not only enjoys working with her, but also really connects with her, which has made all the difference.
