About Jordan

Hello! My name is Jordan, and I am a 2nd year PhD student working on a Literature degree. I have 17 years of teaching experience (high school and college), and I am a published author of both fiction and academic writing. I'd describe my personality as creative, enthusiastic, and inquisitive. I like tutoring because it gives me an opportunity engage one on one with my students to meet their individual needs and get to know them as learners. I'm looking for a job that allows me to utilize my knowledge of literature, close reading, and critical thinking to enhance the learning of motivated teens and adults. I started tutoring when I began teaching high school English and Creative Writing in 2010. In my spare time, I like to read, cook, bake, sew, sing, and play Dungeons and Dragons. One thing you should know about me is that I love literature and that I believe in the power of reading to open minds. My skills include advanced content knowledge, patience, and clear communication.
