About Jonathan

I've recently returned from spending a year in Paris teaching French students English so I have a lot of experience in conversation and dialogue as well as seeing the differences in grammar. Before this I received a foreign language degree from Virginia Commonwealth University and spent time as an intern working for the French Film Festival. The way to say something and not just translate word for word is very common in French, I focus on learning how to truly express yourself in the language. I've worked with high school and college students in French and I love the cultural differences that we have but the fact that we still have the same ideas with different ways of saying it. That fascinates me and I love going over the small details to help your French more authentic and real. It was hard for me to understand certain sounds so I've focused mostly on that and hope to give others tips on not only grammar but on learning the self expression of French that is so rich and full of flow.
