About Jessica

I was a live out nanny for one family with 3 children (ages 2, 5 and 7) for five years, but had to leave due to college. I am still very close with the family and keep in touch regularly. During college, I volunteered every Sunday morning in the Children's ministry in the nursery or with the toddlers. The last 3 years of college I was a 2nd grade teacher's assistant, where I lead literacy group sessions. I am also Site Director qualified to teach before and after school care in Poudre School District (Fort Collins, CO). Below are some highlights of other work I have done: Intern-Prep Academy *Live-in caregiver for 6 adults (ages 24-31) with physical/ mental disabilities *Physical care for 4 female students (dressing, feeding, bathing) *Taught independent living skills (cleaning, cooking meals, washing clothes) *Taught career skills (training in public speaking, resume prep, filling out applications, interview tips) *Helped develop interpersonal skills and provided one-on-one spiritual discipleship and mentoring Respite Care, Intern-Child Care Specialist: *Provided quality care for children with developmental disabilities and respite to their families. *Planned and implemented age and developmentally appropriate activities while adapting activities to meet each child's ability level. *Administered medications . Infant room care provider: *Took care of daily physical needs: diapering and feeding. *Performed housekeeping and kitchen duties. Michael, Live in Nanny: *Full-time care for 2 teenagers, ages 14 and 17, (cooking, house cleaning, driving to and from school/activities, helping with homework). Camp, Program Leader: *Before and after school care (K-6th grade). *Implemented daily lesson plans pertaining to weekly theme. Georgia, In home health care aide: *24 hr. shifts helping Georgia, a 75-year-old lady with paraplegia in her daily needs (bowel program, dressing, lifts and transfers, meal prep, house cleaning, etc.). Direct care support provider: *Assisting 3 gentleman in the home with daily tasks (feeding, bathing, dressing). *Transport clients back and forth from home to work. Elementary School, 2nd grade Teacher Assistant: *Assisting teachers in classroom preparation. *Working with students in small study groups. *Helping students one on one with reading/language skills and math.
