About Jessica

Learning should be an exciting journey! I have a graduate degree and 21 years of experience teaching Third Grade and tutoring elementary school students in Reading, Writing, Math, Science, Social Studies, Test Preparation, Technology, and study Skills. I focus on building confidence and fostering a love for learning. I empower students to develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills. I vary my teaching strategies using visual aids, hands-on activities, discussions, and practice problems to meet each student's needs. Communication is essential for understanding student progress, so I provide regular updates and seek feedback. Celebrating small successes and providing positive reinforcement keeps students motivated. Witnessing a student's "aha!" moment and seeing their confidence grow is the most rewarding aspect of tutoring. I am CPR trained and have First Aid certification.
