Hi. My name is Jen. I'm a mother to 2 adult sons who are starting their own families. I love caring for children and helping them grow into kind, creative humans. I enjoy reading, puzzles, nature, games, music, art and learning. I'm currently learning sign language and can teach your child to communicate this way also. I'm a US Army veteran. I've worked in the medical field for 20+ years. I have nannied for 5 families previously, and currently nanny full time for one family. I am most experienced with infants. I have all clearances. I volunteer at the Carnegie Library and at the Free Store in Braddock. I strongly believe in the values of kindness, inclusivity, and freedom to be yourself. You must be LGBTQ+ accepting. I'd love to spend time with your family and go on adventures to the zoo, museums, picnics, and other fun things. I'm also very comfortable with nighttime routines, feeding schedules, medication administration, and overnight care. I look forward to hearing from you.
Jen joined our family as a nanny when my son turned 6 months old and will be with us through his first birthday. She loves our son like he is her own, and that has made my transition back to work a lot more peaceful than I imagined. When we hired Jen we were looking for someone who I would feel safe leaving my baby with, but what I didn’t anticipate until she arrived was that she’s not only someone who I feel safe leaving him with, but someone he is excited to see and spend time with. He reaches for her every time he sees her and whines when she leaves. Being a working mom is hard, but knowing Jen was there for my son made it a lot easier. Not only is she a natural caregiver that is kind and thoughtful, she is curious and continues to educate herself to be an (even) better nanny I.e. right now she is taking a class about allergens, and she attended a nanny convention about a month ago. Jen led us through baby led weaning, nap transitions, and sleepless nights. And she regularly did engaging activities with our son like museums, parks, and crafts. The only reason we’re parting ways is because we are moving. Jen became the third member of our parenting team and I will miss her insight and approach. But what you’ll come to learn about Jen is once she joins your family, she’ll always be a part of it.
