About Heidi

I'm a passionate teacher/tutor with a teaching certification and two years of experience as a full time high school English Teacher, as well as a bachelor's degree in Theatre Arts. I love working in small groups or one-on-one, like I did at the University of Illinois, Chicago writing center, as it enables me to learn about my students and tailor my approach to their needs and learning styles. I have significant experience with teaching ACT and SAT preparation, essay and personal statement writing, and reading strategies. I am currently seeking a master's degree in TESOL (Teaching English to Students of Other Languages), and I am comfortable working with students of all levels; English is my specialty, but I'm an avid and quick learner, and have helped students in many subjects in the past.
