About Matthew

Hello! My name is Matt and I'm an early childhood teacher. I have almost 20 years of classroom experience. Most of my classroom experience is in Kindergarten, although I've also taught first and second grades. I also spent a few years as a K-5 Literacy Coach and worked with many teachers and children on ways to optimize instruction and learning. I have my state teaching certification which allows me to teach kindergarten through eighth grade and have a Master's Degree in Literacy Education. My passion is for helping young students with reading, writing, phonics, and general literacy skills. I love to read and write and will share this excitement for literacy with your learner. My teaching and tutoring approach is very student-centered. I will gather information on your child in the first few sessions (interests, strengths, areas of need) and then use that data to help create the best programming for your child.
