My first job was as a swim instructor/lifeguard instructor. And yes, my CPR and teaching skills are still up to par. I've worked with children who live on the autism spectrum, as well as trauma survivors. I prioritize co-regulation, respect for where the child needs to be met, and acknowledgement of their capabilities as young humans. I've used Montessori and Reggio philosophies, both in schools and swim lessons. I'm passionate about helping students unlock their potential. With 10 years of experience, I create engaging and patient learning environments where confidence and a love for learning thrive. I actively listen to students and use varied teaching strategies to adapt to their individual learning styles. I keep students motivated by celebrating successes, breaking down problems, and encouraging curiosity. Witnessing a student's "aha!" moment is the most rewarding part of tutoring.
